My approach

I am a fully qualified certified Play Therapist. I have experience of working with children therapeutically within a school environment. I aim to establish a good therapeutic relationship with each child and young person through using the Therapeutic Play approach which is child-centred and integrative; drawing on a variety therapeutic techniques and therapeutic media to meet the needs of each individual child to enable them to communicate and express their conscious and unconscious feelings and emotions freely. I work independently to support children aged 4-13 with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

I am a member of the PTUK and adhered to their ethical framework.

Providing children with a safe confidential space to explore their internal world.

All sessions will take place in the child’s school within a confidential and safe room, with a range of therapeutic media for them to access. The children are provided with a weekly 40 minute session for a mininum of 12 sessions.

What is Play Therapy?

Therapeutic play provides children with the opportunity to process and work through their feelings, emotions and experiences using a range of therapeutic media within the safety of a therapeutic relationship, underpinned by a non-directive approach. It helps children to express themselves in their own way; especially if they are struggling to understand how they are feeling, or are finding it hard to put their experiences into words.
